Day 137 – Turrana Bluff & Mersey Crag

A long, tracked walk up Little Fisher River was a nice relief from yesterday’s snow ploughing efforts, at least until I reached the junction that then split to the two Abels for today. Turrana Bluff first via stunning frozen alpine tarns, and then Mersey Crag in deeper snow once again! The views to the snow-covered Overland Abels sitting under a bluebird sky were mind-blowing, and probably had me enjoying the summits longer than my schedule had as ideal. But they’re the sacrifices you make for enjoyment, and the return track was easy enough to tackle under head torch once I re-passed the pristine Rinadena Falls.

Abels: 138 / 158
