Day 138 – Clumner Bluff & Western Bluff

Another big day to push through before I get to rest up with a day off tomorrow! Though, I’ll be honest, it was quite a pleasant day of pushing. Up early to scale the forest slopes and open scree of Clumner Bluff, which was able to be ascended whilst avoiding pretty much every section of snow! The clouds hung in the valleys and over Lake Rowallan below as my jaw dropped at the views to the west from the plateau. On the return and transition across to Western Bluff I met Matt & Nat, who bravely shared with me a personal cancer story and have inspired me to keep pushing even harder. Thank you for creating that connection with me. It was then up and over a delightful, relatively snow-free landscape to the second Abel of the day, after which I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face as I completed the walk, the sun going down at my side.

Abels: 140 / 158
