One Abel I didn’t have a heap of information about was this one, Mt Weld. Described as long, scrubby, forested and having plenty of cutting grass, I set out, and discovered all were true. Honestly though, the ascent was quite enjoyable, vegetation not too bad, and the summit had crazy close-proximity views of the surrounding ranges – the Arthurs, Anne Circuit and Snowy Range. The descent, however, was just long and relentless, and recent accumulated emotional fatigue really impacted me by the end of the hike.
